Congratulations Alex and Lindsay!

I just received this picture from Jimmy from the wedding taking place this evening. My cousin Alex (Aunt Rosemary's son) is the groom and his wife is Lindsay. Lots of Cline's are in attendance at the Cavender Castle in Dahlonega, Georgia. I am so sad that I am not there with them.

Cord's Dedication Yesterday

Yesterday, Leslie and Russell had the family, some friends from their church and their preacher and his wife over for a very special ceremony to dedicate Cord Ramsey Pigg to the Lord. Leslie and Russell promised they would raise Cord as well as his brothers in a Christian home. Cord wore the beautiful gown that was worn by Emma, Anni, Ava, Connor, Maddux, Christopher, Sarah James, Cannon, and John Ed. Each child's initials are monogrammed around the hem of the gown. We have 2 more on the way that will wear it and then I think it will be retired!

Leslie had the most wonderful dinner for everyone and the children had so much fun playing together. It was truly a day to remember!

Cheryl's gone

As I sit here typing this I can hardly see through the tears. I just can't believe that Cheryl is gone. This picture from May 3, 2008 was the last time I was with her. I just got a card from her the other day where she was praying for me and thinking about me. How can this be? There are not words to write to express how she touched my life. She fought so hard and remained so faithful to God through all the terrible things going on inside of sweet body. She was always so much more concerned about others that were going through struggles than her own. As I read her blog numerous times a day, I could see that she was an inspiration to everyone that knew her. I can see her smile and hear her adorable laugh and I am heartbroken. I am so sad for her amazing husband Bubba who took every step with her, for her sons that she adored, for J.B. and Faye and Jimmy and especially for Alice. What a true testimony of sisterly love Alice has been. I know that Cheryl is dancing with Jesus and would not want tears shed for her but right now that is all I can do.

Happy 23rd Birthday Patrick!

On August 17, 1985 at 5:01 pm John Patrick Evans entered into this world and my life has been forever blessed because of it. He is a constant source of love and joy to me and those who know him.

This is the first year in his life that there has not been some sort of party for his birthday. He is in Gatlinburg with a group of friends having a ball. I went with him Friday to get this table and chairs for his kitchen for his birthday. No poem needed for the invitation, no decorations, no themed characters, no cute birthday outfit.....my baby is a man now and this mother is so proud!

10 years ago today....

Ten years ago today at 5:06 pm we said goodbye to Daddy. He had fought so hard against the "cancer curse". Through all the surgeries and treatments and doctors appointments, he kept on fighting for all of us.

This was read at his memorial service and it is so true.

2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith

The joys of being a Homeowner!

Patrick and I made the 1st trip to Walmart to get the rest of what he needed to set up housekeeping! He was amazed at what door mats, kitchen items and food cost! Welcome to the real world!

He is so happy and has everything arranged just the way that "he" wants it!

The Troops Showed Up!

Today around 10:00 am there was lots of activity going on at 1410 Mohawk Trail! Family showed up armed with baskets of things that Patrick will need for his new home.
Everyone began to work away at washing and cleaning and getting the kitchen set up. Corinne lined all the shelves with liner and all of the clean dishes and pots and pans were put away. They brought him all kinds of cleaning supplies, kitchen items, paper goods, lamps, food to stock the pantry and bottled water for the fridge! Nita also brought her famous chocolate chip cookies!
Ray worked on putting things together and fixing a leak. Brad was still working in the yard. Today he was working on weeding the flower beds in the front yard. Patrick had to go to work in the middle of everything so I know he will be happy when he comes home tonight to his place.

And this little cutie Anni was along for the fun anxiously awaiting going to pick up the other 3 GIRL cousins and all spending the night and Didi and G's!

Happy Birthday Leslie!!!!

Happy Birthday Wishes to Leslie!!!!
Such joy she has brought into all of our lives for 32 years!

It's Official ! 1410 Mohawk Tail~ Madison, TN 37115

July 31, 2008 will be a day that stands out in Patrick's mind for a long time. After much last minute running around and tending to details needed for the closing, the time was set for 3:00 at Susan Greene's office. We had lots of family to volunteer to help but since the move was scheduled for a week day, everyone had to work. I met Patrick at his house around 11 and we got the packing done of the kitchen. I took him to UHaul to pick up the 17 foot truck that he rented and back to his old house to get started. When we got there, Brad was already there and waiting to get started. Taylor Dugger came to help and that really made it go faster.

They got all of his stuff from the old place loaded and then we headed to Mom's for all the things he had in her basement. Then it was time to go to closing! Susan was as excited as we were! Todd Moser from the closing company came and they were ready to start signing.
This is Myra Simons from First State Bank. She is such a precious lady. Brad and I worked with her on our house and we were thrilled that she was able to help Patrick with his. She did not even have to come to the closing but said she just wanted to because she thought so much of Patrick.
On the way to his house Wayne Benton called to see if he could come help and in no time he was there unloading with the guys. Jackson Routh called and said he was coming when he got off work and he got there in time for the run to our house to get more furniture and the patio furniture that Nita and Ray gave him. Jackson also showed Patrick how to hook up all the electonic stuff and the surround sound to the TV. Brad went and got the lawn mower and began on the yard. The grass was very high and it was so hot but Brad was determined to cut and weed eat and it looks so nice.

All the sisters have already volunteered to come for a work day Saturday so I will post some more pictures tomorrow. He is so happy and we are so happy and proud for him!
